2. Description of Liver Cell Carcinoma (HCC)
Symptoms and characteristics
HCC is a tumor with rapid growth and early vascular invasion inside of the liver.
Yellow Skin, abdominal pain, and Easy bruising or bleeding are some symptoms that are found.
Usually have no symptoms other than those related to their chronic liver disease. Suspicion for HCC should be heightened in patients with previously compensated cirrhosis who develop decompensation such as ascites, encephalopathy, jaundice, or variceal bleeding.

3. Description of Liver Cell Carcinoma (HCC)
Who is affected? Anyone, but the following have a higher risk:
Type 2 diabetics, patients who suffer hepatitis B or C, adults/elders, children who suffer any form of liver cancer, mostly men are affected than women.
Outlook or quality of life
If HCC remains untreated, or if the cancer cannot be completely removed, the disease is usually fatal within 3 to 6 months
Liver transplantation is a curative option. To be suitable for a liver transplantation it is generally agreed that certain criteria should be met.
chemotherapy, trans arterial chemoembolization, thermal ablation and selective internal radiation therapy are also options.
If a tumor is resectable, then 5 year survival is at ~37-56%
