The coexistence of opposing attitudes or feelings toward a person, an object, or an idea. I think Carla has some ambivalence about getting married.

3 Bemused (adj) Preoccupied, confused, absorbed

4 Blighted(adj) Spoiled, impaired, ruined, doomed
Something damaged, ruined, or devalued in some way Our town is blighted by unemployment.

5 Ephemeral (adj) Short-lived, transient, temporary
Something transient or passing the ephemeral joys of childhood. ephemeral popularity

6 Incomprehensible (adj.)

7 Lament (v.) Mourn, cry, grieve To mourn or express sorrow

10 Serene (adj) Peaceful, calm, sedate, tranquil

11 Vibrant (adj) Lively, energetic Lively and bright
