Reading makes me feel completely serene because I get to escape life for just a little while.

Ants are very dilgent workers; they can carry more than their own weight!

The neighborhood was marred by last night’s thunderstorms.

8. Pariah—an outcast from society
The tomato is a social pariah with the fruit because even though he is a fruit, people think he’s a vegetable.

9. Serrated—jagged; saw-like
Some leaves actually have a serrated edge.

10. Antiquated—outdated; old fashioned
Rotary phones are completely antiquated.

11. Inebriation—drunkenness; intoxication
People tend to act rather dumb when they are inebriated.

The dark side did one thing right: they had parity amongst their storm troopers.

People think showing off lots of money in pictures makes a profound statement; it just shows that you only care about money.

Those flowers are blooming so prolifically!

25. Appease—pacify; soothe; calm down; make peace with
Pacifiers appease babies (and apparently also puppies), so they stop crying.

26. Discord—disagreement
Mr. Crab experiences discord with one of his employees.

27. Vacuous—empty; silly; meaningless
Bevis and Butthead were mentally vacuous.

28. Apprehensive—worried; fearful
Some students can be apprehensive about their class work.

29. Maverick—a loner
Being the person that stands out sometimes makes them a maverick.

30. Smorgasbord—a wide range of something; a variety
The family reunion meal was a smorgasbord feast!

31. Vagrant—a person wandering without a home
A vagrant is more than just a homeless person, they also move from place-to-place.
