7 Author Spotlight: C.S. Lewis
Clive Staples Lewis is one of the most widely-read modern Christian writers. This well-educated man was born in Northern Ireland and became friends with other influential authors that you may have heard of, such as J.R.R. Tolkien, the creator of The Lord of the Rings series. It took Lewis several years to write The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. He based the children’s characters off of three girls, who came to live with him during the war. The story became so popular after it was published, Lewis ended up writing six other books, one prequel and five sequels. The series is known as The Chronicles of Narnia. The books captured a whole new generation of viewers when Disney began releasing hugely popular films based on the books in 2005. For a short tour of Lewis’ past, go to BelfastiTours .
