Network Mission The Florida Small Business Development Center Network
(FSBDCN) is a statewide partnership between economic development and higher education organizations dedicated to providing emerging and established business owners assistance, enabling overall growth and increased profitability, contributing to the economic prosperity of the state. 1 of 8 original SBDC national pilot programs funded in by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Accredited member of the national network of SBDCs.

Economic Development The FSBDC Network is the largest statewide provider of entrepreneurial services and plays a vital role in Florida’s economic development initiatives by: Assisting entrepreneurs in all stages of business, from startups to mature small businesses searching for growth opportunities Working with firms in all industry sectors Linking the resources of Florida’s universities and colleges Providing access to a national network of over 1,000 centers

Statewide Infrastructure
Statewide network of centers involving: State Universities Colleges Chambers of Commerce Economic Development Councils Federal, State and Local Government Agencies Additional outreach is provided at 50 plus outreach locations, utilizing resource partners such as chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, business incubators and lending institutions. *Less than 40 hours/week

Confidential Counseling
One-on-One Confidential Counseling Is confidential and provided at no cost Utilizes Certified Business Analysts (CBA)s with practical and theoretical business management experience: discuss ideas and strategies identify problems and find solutions share knowledge and information provide advice and guidance answer questions Provides access to university faculty and R&D expertise

Education and Training
Workshops, seminars, business expos and conferences Practical and current information Business topics from basic to advanced business management functions and skills Instructors/Presenters include SBDC CBAs, college faculty, government experts and private-sector professionals

Information Resources
Current and expansive information for better decision-making, including: Extensive libraries with access to databases, key directories, periodicals, government publications, reference books, planning guides and magazines. The Center for Research & Economic Opportunity. The Small Business Resource Network ( connects businesses with private-sector sources, such as attorneys, accountants, bankers, etc.
