3 We’re all about ... Teaching all students the expectations in the school environment Supporting kids to develop social emotional skills that increase academic success Creating communities in which all students feel like they belong and are valued Providing the space kids need to make mistakes, learn from them and change their behavior over time Acknowledging students when they do the right thing Celebrating students and their accomplishments Mike and Julie

4 We have 3 school-wide expectations and we call them the “3 Re’s”

6th & 7th: Weekly Drawings at Lunch (Mondays) 8th Grade: Semester Raffles for larger prizes Examples: art supplies, basketball, earbuds, universal power pack (charger), games, selfie stick, wireless speaker, Chocolate Shoppe ice cream party for the student's homeroom class, $25 gift card to a place of the student's choice. Class Hawk Bucks (monthly drawing; class gets a treat) Students

0-3 total tardies for the quarter & no behavior incidents Get a treat at Lunch (ice cream sandwich, fruit snacks) 76 % of our students met this criteria for 2nd quarter Mike

Quarterly Hawk Pride Award: Teachers nominate students for following the Social Contract agreements Students receive: Certificate Slice of pizza at lunch Julie

11 QUARTERLY Character AWARDS:
Tied into the Social Emotional Learning Standards which are taught in our Advisory lessons. Advisory teachers nominate one student for each award. Many teachers also include students in the nomination process. Students need to give examples of times when they have seen their classmate display the given character trait. Parents/guardians are invited for a brief ceremony and reception; students receive a nice certificate with a paragraph written by the nominating teacher (and classmates, in some cases.) 1st Quarter:r: Kindness/ Caring 3rd Quarter: Self-Discipline 2nd Quarter: Tolerance/ Courage 4th Quarter: Responsible Choices

12 Getting Involved in PBIS….
PBIS Team: Staff & Parents (meet monthly: data, monitor PBIS goals; prize donations) Student PBIS Team: Meets 1st Tuesday of each month (after school) Leadership Input about focus areas Hawktoberfest Dance (our primary PBIS fundraiser) in October Spirit Days (crazy hat/hair day; pajama day) Music at lunch on Fridays “Farch” Community Building Activities - March 17th Other Student Voice Students
