4 The Rules of the Road All scheduled activities are obligatory.
If any traveler wants to visit friends or relatives while on tour, it must be arranged in advance with group leader and tour guide. Travelers are expected to respect any nightly curfew that the Group Leader may set for their own safety and security. Room checks will be conducted at the Group Leader’s discretion. Smoking is not allowed on buses, during meals, in hotel rooms or in any other shared, enclosed space. Hitchhiking and the driving or renting of any motor vehicle is strictly forbidden for all travelers.

5 The Rules of the Road . Travelers are required to pay for any phone calls or incidental personal expenses incurred at hotels. These will be payable the evening before departure at each hotel. Travelers under the age of 18 may not consume alcohol on tour. Travelers over the age of 18 (or older, if local laws require) may consume beer or wine in moderation. The consumption of hard liquor is strictly forbidden. Group Leaders and/or parents may prohibit all alcohol consumption at their discretion. Excessive drinking by any traveler will not be tolerated and will result in dismissal from tour at the traveler’s own expense. Illegal activities will not be tolerated and are punishable by immediate dismissal from the tour. If the local authorities are involved, travelers will be subject to the laws of the country you are visiting. Payment for damage done to hotel rooms or to buses is your responsibility. If you notice any damage upon arrival at a hotel, you should notify the Tour Director immediately.

Passport—required on all EF Educational Tours (Remember to leave one copy of it at home, have one saved on phone and one with your leader.) 34 What do I need to bring? Carry-on bag
The EF backpack that every traveler receives is a perfect carry-on bag. These should be packed in your carry-on in case your checked luggage is delayed: Passport Money Airline boarding pass Toothbrush and toothpaste (Check catsa.gc.ca for current security requirements.) 36 Travel Advice…. Parents should talk to their child about good decision-making and personal responsibility while on tour, as well as the importance of following all safety advice and instructions they receive. EF Educational Tours

We advise our travelers to: Be proactive in terms of personal safety -leave the expensive clothes and jewelry at home, always travel in a group, choose well-lit streets and to be aware of their surroundings and other people at all times.  Be on time -don’t make the group wait on you. Bus departure times are arranged to make tour times and meal resevations. BE ON TIME Keep all possessions in a safe place Travelers are responsible for their possessions. Valuables should never be left behind in the hotel or on a bus seat. Personal belongings should always be kept within sight. Also, popular tourist areas attract pickpockets. Keep money in travel pouches that can be worn under clothes. Know all the important contact numbers Your child should travel with the contact information for each hotel on the itinerary. This information is located on the final itinerary, which travelers can access 14 days before tour on their personal website. Upon arrival, the Tour Director will give all travelers a wristband with the emergency number printed on it and students should wear it for the duration of the tour. EF Educational Tours

39 Passport and Visas Valid passports are required for all travelers.
Be sure that your name on your application form matches your name on your passport! Passports may take up to eight weeks to process. Some destinations may require travel visas. Non-Canadian citizens may require special visas or other travel documents. Obtaining passports and visas are travelers’ responsibilities. Please ensure your passport is valid for 6 months after your scheduled return date. EF Educational Tours
