Rigor Requirements for HOPE
HOPE Rigorous Course List Must take a minimum of 4 Rigors courses and have a Core GPA of a 3.0 to be HOPE eligible in the following types of courses: Advanced Math courses Advanced Science courses AP courses in core areas Course taken at the post-secondary level (college) Advanced foreign language courses AP Language AP Literature AP Calculus College Readiness Math GSE Algebra II GSE Algebra II Honors Pre-Calculus Honors Pre-Calculus Calculus Honors AP Biology Human Anatomy Chemistry I Physics AP US History Spanish II Spanish III Any Academic DE Course

Honor Graduate Requirements
Honor Graduate: Must have a HOPE GPA of 90 or above with no grade below 70 for the 8 semesters of high school. Superior Honor Graduate: Must have a HOPE GPA of 90 or above with no grade below a 70 for the 8 semesters of high school and complete an Advanced Academic Pathway. Advanced Academic Pathway Earn four credits in one academic subject area One of those credits must be an AP course or a DE course Earn two credits of Foreign Language

Testing End of Course Assessments (EOC): There are 2 EOCs in each academic area. Ninth Gr Lit/Comp and American Lit/Comp GSE Algebra I and GSE Geometry Biology I and Physical Science US History and Econ/Bus/Free Enterprise ALL EOCs count 20% of the final grade.

Promotion Criteria Students are promoted at the end of the year based on Carnegie credit hours. Each class at CHS is worth ONE unit. CLASS UNITS NEEDED Sophomore 5 Units Junior 12 Units Senior 19 Units

Sports Eligibility All students must have physical exam before trying out for a sport. ALL first time 9th graders are eligible for all sports in the fall of their freshman year. To continue to be eligible for participation in any sport the student must pass 3 of 4 classes each semester.
