Governor’s Energy Initiative BuildSmartNY
Governor’s Goal is reduction of State Building Energy Use 20% over the next 5 years SUNY is 38% of electric consumption and 30% of total bill Formed a special team from key NYPA and NYSERDA personnel 11/10/2018

Proposed Approach Collect key basic information from each campus
1-Shovel ready projects that can be launched Collect key basic information from each campus In person meeting with all campus sustainability/energy managers 2-Priority campuses for Energy Master Plans 3-Campuses that might be good targets for innovation pilot 4-Other ideas for how to achieve savings 11/10/2018

Survey coming out shortly – anticipated deadline August 7 Survey asks about sub-metering at the campuses Whether campuses have an energy manager or sustainability director at campuses Who most influential regarding energy measures Any energy projects ready to be initiated Overall Cost and usage will be provided by System Administration Conference call next week – details to follow 11/10/2018

FEMA Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA)
Compliments traditional TV/Radio Alert System Launched Thursday, June 28 Sends text messages for imminent weather, Amber Alerts and Presidential Alerts Individuals will be able to opt-out of Imminent Threat or AMBER alerts. Individuals will not be able to opt-out of Presidential alerts. 11/10/2018

FCC Narrowband Mandate
Requiring all VHF and UHF Public Safety and Industrial/Business land mobile radio (LMR) Part 90 radio systems operating in the MHz and MHz to migrate to at least 12.5 kHz efficiency technology by January 1, 2013 Purpose – to relieve congestion 11/10/2018

New system allows for continual updates – however late completion by some campuses/colleges has kept the system locked This Fall the deadline will be strictly enforced Survey going out shortly to ascertain how campuses currently use the system and how would like to use in future 11/10/2018

CC Capital Two part request - informal request for list of all potential projects for the next 5 years regardless of status of Sponsor support List will include a probability factor – Green (Definite), Yellow (Very Likely), Red (Maybe) Formal request to follow this month with October deadline – must include all sponsor resolutions in support of 50% 11/10/2018
