Liquid level monitoring and control relays
CM-ENS are the new liquid level monitoring relays They replace the former ENS and ENN relays Liquid level monitoring relays are typically used in pump applications Depending on the application they control pumps to fill or empty containers with liquid In such applications the liquid level is detected by electrodes in conductive fluids © ABB Group November 10, 2018

Liquid level monitoring and control relays
CM-ENS – working principle Emptying a tank = draining Conductive measuring principle: The liquid level monitoring relay puts an AC voltage onto the electrodes and monitors if a current is flowing or not This principle works only with conductive liquids such as: water, drinking water, sea water, waste water, acids, base, liquid fertilizers, milk, beer, coffee, low-percentage alcohol, etc. Not suitable for: Chemically pure water, oils, paraffins, or explosive fluids: Fuel/petrol, explosive liquids, ethylene glycol, high percentage alcohol Common electrode: When using a metal tank the electrode -C is not required. The cable can be connected directly to the metallic surface of the tank. Filling a tank © ABB Group November 10, 2018
