Find the place value you want to round to (the “rounding digit”) If the number to the right of “the rounding digit” is less than 5, make all numbers to the right of the rounding digit zeros If the number is greater than 5, add one to the rounding digit and then everything to the right becomes zero ex: Round to the nearest hundredth 8 1.
