While each used the same theme and structure, Vonnegut and Slesar told very different stories through “Harrison Bergeron” and “Examination Day.” How do these differences affect their respective stories? Slesar—Shock Irony The shock stays with the reader
Takes time to develop the characters Surprise hits quickly Gives an unbelieving or shocked effect to the reader

Why Both believe that individuality is important
Both believe that the government could overreach Depends on audience Understatement—smart, reader willing to take the time to comprehend Irony—in your face, fast-paced
