To Be Complete Hebrews 13:20-21
2
The Possibility of being Complete
3
Only the Lord can make us complete
20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21
4
Only the Lord can make us complete
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 1 Peter 2:21
5
Only the Lord can make us complete
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:38
6
Only the Lord can make us complete
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? Matthew 7:21-22
7
The Lord’s Word must work in us
8
Only the Lord can make us complete
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
9
Only the Lord can make us complete
And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. Hebrews 13:22

13
Hebrews 13:21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
14
God’s people are to be workers for the Lord
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58
15
The church at Ephesus which had lost its “first love,” was commended to “do the first works.”
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. Revelation 2:5
16
There is not potential for completeness in indifference, apathy or hard-heartedness.
17
The Lord’s Word must work in us
There is not potential for completeness in indifference, apathy or hard-heartedness. To be complete the Lord’s people must be active, involved in good works
18
The Possibility of Completeness that Pleases
19
Completeness is “well pleasing in His Sight”
make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21
20
Completeness is “well pleasing in His Sight”
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13
21
Completeness is “well pleasing in His Sight”
For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10
22
Completeness is “well pleasing in His Sight”
But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 13:16
23
Completeness is “well pleasing in His Sight”
5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:5-6
24
Completeness is “well pleasing in His Sight”
And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:22

Lessons for Us Today
26
The Lord wants spiritually mature (perfect) people.
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
27
The Lord wants spiritually mature (perfect) people.
14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. 6:1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, Hebrews 5:12 - 6:1
28
The Lord wants “complete Christians.”
29
The challenge the Lord has for His people is for Him to make them complete!
make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:21
30
Conclusion 1. We have all we need to be complete. 2. What the world offers does not provide what we need to be truly complete. 3. Only those who seek fulfillment in Christ can truly be complete.
