Use this as the holding slide. Moderator needs to be checking three things with participants when they join: Can they hear you OK? Can you see their name on the Participant list? Can they see this screen? Can they mute their telephone? If not, don’t worry but please note we’ll be able to hear any background noise

4 School Partnerships Increasing Global Citizenship Enriching Education
Building an Equitable and Sustainable Partnership Applications are assessed for quality against progression within criteria based on these THREE KEY OBJECTIVES. The online application form has a part dedicated to each one of these. We will now take a closer look at each of these 3 objectives [[ Read the 3 key objectives ]]

Worth a glance for you to ensure that your partnership country is still eligible for Grant funding, since there has been slight changes from the previous round. I’d like to point your attention to the countries that are bolded. If we receive a high volume of applications, partnerships involving the bolded countries will be prioritised for funding over other countries in the region. The deadline for applications for this round is 31st January. Special rules apply for partnerships involving three countries – more in next slide.

6 Partnership composition
2 way : 1-1 2 way Cluster: 3-3 3 way (SSA only): 1-1-1 3 way Cluster (SSA only) 3-3-3 Presenter [[ P-ship composition: explain the table ]] One partner must be from the UK.  It is only Sub Sahara African countries that can participate in a 3 way p-ship, either with a single school composition or a cluster of 9 schools. For instance, this could include 1 UK school linked with 1 school from Ghana and 1 school from Ethiopia. Or it could include 3 UK schools, linked with 3 schools from Ghana, and 3 schools from Ethiopia. We are keen to increase the number of 3 way partnerships, which means that applications with tri-lateral partnerships will be looked at favourably. So, if you are already partnered with a SSA school and are interested in adding a school or schools in a third country in SSA region to your partnership, our team would be happy to help you identify suitable schools. Having said that, this may not be realistic to take on 1 month before the application deadline, but certainly worth considering if you plan to apply in the next funding round in January, 2013. 1 x Ghana 3 way example: 1 x UK 1 x Ethiopia

7 Grant £1500 per school Travel (3 application deadlines per year)
Reciprocal visit for 1 teacher in each school Eligible costs include: Flights, accommodation, internal travel, visas, essential vaccinations, 1-trip travel insurance If leftover funds: communications, project materials, such as handouts, publicity flyers etc. Note: Items such as computers, iPads, skipping ropes, etc. not eligible [[ Explain : £1500 per school  £3000 per a way p-ship  £4500 per way p-ship  £9000 per a 3-3 cluster p-ship  £13500 per way cluster p-ship ]] Travel costs include: Flights, accommodation, internal travel, visas, essential vaccinations, 1-trip travel insurance. Also, a word about Visas and flights – It is strongly recommended that you first obtain your visa before purchasing flights. The British Council cannot reimburse the school partnership for costs of cancelling flights if visa requirements have not been met. The grant funds ONE teacher travelling from each school. The visit must include a minimum 4 working days in the school. The purpose of the grant is to provide funding for reciprocal visits, and it’s expected that partnerships will spend most or all of their grant on the visits and associated costs. If partnerships do have a small amount of money left over after the visits and have ideas on how they would like to spend it, they must contact the British Council to request permission for this.
