PGC5009 Fast Process GC Key Product Attributes Patented Resistively Heated Column By using the stainless steel column’s own material resistivity property and an electric potential applied directly to the column, the column effectively becomes a heater enabling a fast heat up time. Rapid Column Cooling System After column heat up, a Vortex cooler device flows 15 SCFM of cold air over the column rapidly cooling it back to the starting temperature. Coupled with the heated column, analysis cycle times of 4-5 minutes for simulated distillation are achieved. Highly Precise Temperature and Pressure Control Digital column temperature and carrier pressure control enable 0.5 oC IBP and 1.0 oC FBP repeatability/reproducibility thereby providing superior process control and no need for peak alignment to compensate for design weaknesses and measurement variability. PGC5009 Fast Process GC Financial Case Study 2 – Gasoline Refinery Gasoline Blend Volume of 4,200,000 Gallons per Day Current blend comprised of 40% FCC Naphtha (HFCCN), 25% Straight Run Naphtha (HSRN), 15% Alkylate, 18% Reformate and 2% Butane The PGC5009 is used to control the boiling range of these gasoline blending components such that the more expensive components, Alkylate and Reformate, are reduced and the less expensive components, FCC Naphtha (HFCCN) and Straight Run Naphtha (HSRN) are increased thereby reducing the overall manufacturing cost of the gasoline blend By reducing the Alkylate and Reformate in the blend by 0.5% and 0.3%, respectively, and increasing the FCC Naphtha and Straight Run Naphtha by 0.25% and 0.10%, respectively, the overall manufacturing cost of the gasoline blend is reduced from $ per gallon to $ per gallon The profit captured in this strategy amounts to $3,405 per day meaning the PGC5009 pays for itself in 28 days; annualized profit $1,242,910.
