Growth patterns of small renal masses (SRMs) with ≥12 mo of follow-up (151 tumors in 127 patients). The interval observed maximum axial imaged diameter over time for each SRM is subplotted with the overlay of the best fit average growth curves. A mixed-model regression analysis demonstrated an average overall growth rate of 0.13cm/yr (solid line). The average growth rate of those with diagnostic needle core biopsies (46) is represented by the dot dash line for those that were malignant (dot dash line) and the dashed line for those that were benign.
