Program Description 2016 law allowing free CCC college classes if offered as part of a partnership agreement to improve college and career readiness Classes take place at High School site Closed classes – only open to High School students during the school day No cost for registration, books, fees 11/10/2018

Who Benefits Students who obtain HS Principal or counselor approval for “college early start” Any HS student with reading or math ability for placement into college courses Freshman to Senior standing in HS Age 13 or older to qualify for college classes SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COLLEGE

Can I take other classes? Yes – but those will have normal fees associated with them What about online classes? Yes – but the fees apply for those classes as well Can I use financial aid? Yes, but eligibility starts to get tracked as soon as the first semester, so students and parents should consider the plusses and minuses of starting financial aid in HS 11/10/2018

What about the cost of textbooks? The college plans on using online open education resources for textbooks – resulting in no costs for textbooks What if I don’t have access to a computer for the online textbooks? Students should consider these courses only if they have easy, daily access to laptop or desktop computers to complete the college-level work 11/10/2018
