Staffing Update Welcome
MSA has filled the open Staff Accountant Position Aysa Crane started Wednesday April 11. She is from Russia, where she studied and taught accounting at the university level. She emigrated to the US in 2012 and worked in accounting and financial management at a variety of nonprofit and for-profit businesses. Our finance team is complete now with Kimberly and Aysa. Together they look forward managing and improving our financial systems Aysa’s is if you want to give her a warm welcome

2018-19 Grants Process Timeline- Competitive
Results of the competition announced: Monday, May 15, 2018 Resolution Phase for all successful applicants (New/Recompete and Continuation): Started April 20 For programs re-competing next year Late July/early August: grants process will begin with the MSA RFP release for concept papers

Formula timeline Not anticipating an additional Formula process this year Notifications in May or June Formula continuations due to PO in spring, check with your PO for draft deadline (April/May)

Verification Updates Additional information about how this process began Current Reporting options Fax 1 (202) Contact the Corporation for National and Community Service, National Service Hotline via phone at 1 (800) or via webform at to request a secure file transfer link Must have all of your documentation compiled and ready to submit including proof of your due diligence Will only receive one link that will be active for 7 days Review and submit verification spreadsheet by May 4th Any updates/current findings? Remind programs what we have outlined for due diligence Discuss what manually verified means Remind them that they can check status in the MyAmeriCorps portal

Compliance: IPERIA Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Improvement Act (IPERIA) Testing for FY2018 5/10/18 – IPERIA Notices 5/29/18 – 2nd Request Only Formula grant selected so far for this year Differentiate IPERIA from background check screening and recent member verification process. Explain logistics (request from OCRO to us, we collect and review info from programs and submit it back to CNCS) CNCS’s Office of the Chief Risk Officer (OCRO) Overall report to come out for year with summarized findings. Quick turnover after requests (staff must be available)

MSA Updates FY19 Budget Update - Federal
The strong bi-partisan support for AmeriCorps came through and not only funded AmeriCorps but increased the amount of funding AmeriCorps State & National and state service commissions received significant increases. AmeriCorps was increased by $26 million State Commission Grant received an historic $ million -- a $1 million increase from last year. Commission Investment Fund increased by $1 million to $8.5 million Volunteer Generation Fund received an historic $5.4 million an impressive increase of $1.6 million Thanks to the hard work of national service champions and groups which included ASC, the state service network, our new States for Service (S4S) Coalition.

MSA Updates FY19 Budget Update - State
The House Ways & Means Committee released its FY19 budget proposal and it included MSA’s level-funded request of $1.4 million. The funds are used to match our Federal Admin grant, support the Commonwealth Corps program and support numerous volunteer initiatives across the state including last week’s National Volunteer Week service projects. The Senate! Senate Ways & Means will release its version of the FY19 budget in mid-May. If you have a close relationship with your State Rep, thank them for supporting MSA in the House budget proposal.

MSA Updates Thank you for getting your mid-year Progress Reports and PER/FSR’s submitted 1200 Hour Member Slots Full Enrollment changing from 100% to 85% 1200 Hour Slots – Conversion Letter Approved by Grants Officer and Program Officer

FY18 Site Visit Season Site visits are currently under way. Program site visits will finish by the end of May and Fiscal site visits by mid-June Program Officers written report to program within 30 days Program has 30 days to respond to compliance issues Best Practice and Continuous Improvement sections are for future reference When all compliance issues are resolved, the site visit process is complete
