Professional Designations
The NAIFA LUTCF stands for Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, a longstanding industry designation. Successful insurance and financial services careers are deeply rooted in product knowledge and effective sales skills. The new NAIFA LUTCF curriculum, developed in partnership with the College for Financial Planning, combines product-focused education with hands-on sales training to help newer advisors thrive in a competitive industry. In addition, NAIFA membership includes substantial discounts to the industry’s leading educational institutions: College for Financial Planning (CFFP): 15% discount for NAIFA members. American Institute of CPCU (AICPCU): 20% discount on AICPCU print study materials for the 11 courses leading to the CPCU designation. America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP): 20% discount on AHIP courses leading to multiple health-related designations and a 33% discount on Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plan training. Professional designations signal a commitment to your career while representing accomplishment and expertise within the insurance and financial services community. The NAIFA LUTCF designation, which dates back to 1984, is being re-launched with a new curriculum and new partner, the College for Financial Planning. In September 2014, program details will be announced including the new course curriculum, program completion requirements, class scheduling, pricing and moderator recruitment. Registration opens in January 2015 and classes begin in July 2015.

Advisor 2020 The Forces and Opportunities Shaping the Financial Services Advisor of the Future
Sponsored by NAIFA and published by the GAMA Foundation Features two research studies: Study One focuses on the Market and the Future Study Two focuses on the Advisor of the Future Available on the NAIFA Marketplace at Half-day workshops available nationwide Advisor 2020: The Forces and Opportunities Shaping the Financial Services Advisor of the Future” is a book published by the GAMA Foundation and sponsored by NAIFA. It is comprised of two studies—one that focuses on the “Market and the Future” and the other that focuses on the ”Advisor of the Future”. According to the findings, among the market drivers that will shape advisors’ practices in the future are: baby boomers, new generations and the underserved middle market, and the changing business environment. Advisors Political Involvement Committee
You may have never run for public office. You might not know much about politics. But with NAIFA’s Advisors Political Involvement Committee (APIC), you can still make a difference. Each year, NAIFA lobbying staff work with members to maximize NAIFA’s impact with lawmakers. Members participating in APIC training events in Washington, DC are prepped with the background they need before going to Capitol Hill to meet with their federal representatives.
