Competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (ERDF 328 M €) Creating new businesses Improving logistic and traffic connections important to SMEs (only in Eastern and Northern Finland) Improving the growth and internationalisation of the enterprises Enhancing the energy efficiency of the SMEs 2. Creating and exploiting new information and competence (ERDF 435 M €) Promoting research, competence and innovation centres based on regional strenghts Increasing innovation activity among SMEs Improving renewable energy and energy efficient solutions Promoting low-carbon economy 25% = ~190 M € ERDF

Employment and mobility of workers (ESF 234 M €) Supporting employment of the young and others in weak position in labor market Improving productivity and well-being at work Moderating gender segregation in work and educational careers 4. Education, skills and lifelong learning (ESF 164 M €) Improving services supporting transitional periods and educational equality Improving the educational offering and quality of education in structural change industries and growth industries 5. Social inclusion and poverty reduction (ESF 99 M €) Improving functional and work capacity of people outside working life Technical support (ERDF,ESF 39 M €) In addition to EU funding, the same amount of national funding (the state + municipalities) is available for each priority line

Preparation schedule of the programme
Preparation has been ongoing since spring 2012 Based on Europe 2020 –strategy, ministry alignments and regional plans Prepared in association with ministries, regions and organisations Political alignments of main contents in summer 2013 (HALKE) Public hearing on the programme and its environmental statement ended 28th October 2013 The Government’s approval together with Partnership Instrument in 23rd January 2014 Implementation of the new programme begins 5th May 2014 (funding applications submitted to Eura 2014 –system) excl. business subsidies 1st July 2014 (Tuki2000) Regional development law into force 20th January 2014, regulation spring 2014
