Committee Goals Elaborating The Committee Charter: Collaborate With The Public Safety Building Committee (PSBC) To Minimize The Short Term Disruption To The Golf Course And Plan To Keep The Course Open During Construction Collaborate With The PSBC Design Agents To Allow A Viable Golf Course To Emerge From Post-PSB Construction Secure A Golf Management Company For The Construction Period Plan For The Long-Term Future Of The Golf Course

7 Assumptions Golf Course Construction And Restoration Is Essentially Unfunded Example: Moving The Clubhouse Is Within The PSB Bond Scope, But Not The Foundation, Utility Services, Restoring The Steps And Decks Example: The Parking Retaining Wall Is Not In the Scope, Together With Other Final Landscaping Total Task Shortfall Estimated By The PSB Cost Estimator: ~$300k This Estimate Is Viewed As A Cost Within The Physical Boundaries Of The PSB Project Not Funded By The PSB Bond That Support The Golf Course These Are Separate Costs From Any Other Short-Term Or Long-Term Efforts Proposed Under The GC Master Plan Under Development By The GC Committee

Total Unfunded Tasks Required For Near-Term Continued Operations: Construction Costs (Within PSB Project): ~$300k Temporary Facilities: $46k* (6 Months) Permanent Restoration 1st and 9th Holes: $294k* *-Estimates Based On Conversations With Golf Course Management Professionals And On-Line Research Unfunded Future Tasks For Long-Term Operations: Catch-up For Deferred Maintenance Irrigation & Drainage Minor Projects

10 Phase 1 – PSB Construction Period
Tasks – Immediately To 12 Months Golf Clubhouse Move Take Advantage Of The Funded Move And Move The Clubhouse Once To Its Final Location Foundation & Utilities Earthmoving And Finish Landscaping For Final Access Road, Parking, Area Around Clubhouse Operate The Golf Course With Temporary Trailers, Parking, Utilities Until The Original Clubhouse Is Completed Take Advantage Of Construction Management In-Place For PSB To Complete Golf Course Construction Within The Bounds Of The PSB Construction Site

11 Phase 2 – Restoration Tasks – 6-18 Months
Complete Detailed Design Of Restored 9th Green And 1st Tee Construct Same Move Golf Course Operations To Restored Clubhouse Continue Operations On Temporary 1st Tee And 9th Green Until Restored Course Facilities Are In Place And Ready For Play Current GC Concept Allows Concurrent Construction Of Restored Golf Course Features And The PSB

12 Phase 3 – Preservation Tasks – 18 Months – Onward
Implement GC Master Plan As Required Irrigation Improvements Fence Line Repairs Drainage Trimming Minor Course Feature Restoration Equipment House Repairs

Achieve Designation of Southborough Golf Club as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” Reinforces The Town As An Environmentally Conscious Community Secures Assistance From Audubon International On How To Better Manage A Golf Course On Conservation Land Promotes Better Cooperation With Open Space And Conservation Bodies Provides Positive Publicity For The Golf Course The CAPS program is also affiliated to the USGA

14 Other Goals & Recommendations
Establish Non-Profit ‘Friends Of The Golf Course’ Organization Separate Organization To Supplement Fee-Based Course Funding Allows Access To USGA and PGA Grant Funds For Training, Teaching And Course Management Possible Grants From USDA For Recreational Facilities Improvements
