2. In the beginning………..

3. Animal magnetism
Max has always been a big fan of animals and in particular reptiles, so although college was not to be he still indulged in his passion at home!

4. Leaving school and moving forward required a lot of patience and trial and error. Finding the necessary guidance and support was crucial for this.

5. Learning the ropes
Max has struggled with social communication in the past but has thrived during his internship. He has developed a style of his own and uses humour to help engage with others.

6. Lots of hands on experience and plenty to do to make the day whizz by.
Max has enjoyed the opportunity to get really hands on during his internship. It has been a real learning experience .

8. Working part time and loving it!
Having the chance to learn through an internship has given max a chance to really gain confidence in his abilities and to make strong connections with his work colleagues

9. Bringing our work home!
Although max still has a passion for reptiles, this has now also spread to marine fish! Hence, bringing his work home!

10. Starting again
Although Max’s journey is progressing positively, as with many parents that have children and young people with SEND needs will know, there is often another sibling waiting in the wings and looking for their own paths through life.

“I would like to start by saying thank you in forwarding Max for work experience placement with ourselves. He has been a breath of fresh air in terms of focus and maturity. He comes in and knows exactly what needs to be done in priority and doesn’t hesitate to crack on with the jobs list we leave him. I have noticed Max will work just as well with others or on his own and doesn’t hesitate in helping customers’ He has also shown some great IT skills using word and excel and has helped in producing labels for in store use, laminating them and putting in the relevant department. He is keen to learn about our hobby and is currently borrowing some books to get up to speed with how to set up an aquarium.”
