Important Information
Track Starts March 5th Forms: Bob Joers (Athletic Director) Athletic Fee: $172 Feepay Physical Form must be filled out every two years. Need to have a physical on file from April 1st, 2016 or more recent. Every athlete must fill out an emergency card. Every athlete must fill out a concussion form once a school year.
5
Academic Standards Our Track program prioritizes classwork over practice. If you need additional help, please let a coach know and come to practice with a pass. Plan ahead for meets as we will often need to leave early. Talk with your teachers ahead of time. Use your teammates as study buddies. Students must maintain passing grades in all subjects and carry a minimum of 2.5 credits each semester. Academic eligibility is determined by quarter grades and semester grades, not progress reports. The 3rd Quarter ends on March 23th. 5
6
Attendance Requirements
Unexcused absences from school will result in an athlete being ineligible to participate in that day’s competition or practice. Excused absences must be verified in writing following the absence and submitted to the athletic director or coach prior to participation in that day’s competition or practice. Athletes are expected to be in school the morning after a late track meet. 6
7
Transportation Policy
Feepay automatically allows you to give permission to take your athlete home. We do require that you formally notify the head coaches when taking your athlete home. We do expect athletes to stay to the end of the competition to cheer on teammates (this includes home meets!) 7

Meets are scored based on the number of teams involved. The winning team is the one that has earned the most points. At dual meets, teams are allowed as many entries as they like. At Invitationals, teams are allotted between one and three slots to fill. Meets take a long time and often go past 9 pm. Bring warm clothes! It gets cold when the sun goes down. 2018 Meet Schedule

Practice Schedule Practices will let out at 5:30 the first three weeks. We have limited space due to other teams practicing. During the rest of the season, practice will end at 6:00. Because we share the stadium with the Lacrosse teams, we won’t be able to practice after 6:00 on a typical night. We are continuing the practice format from last season.
15
Practice Format In order to address the needs of a growing program, we have made some changes to how practices are structured. Typical Outdoor Structure 4:00-4:05 - Warm Up 4:05-4:50 - JV and Varsity works with Field Events and Relays 4:50-5:20 - Varsity and JV does the track workout 5:20-5:30 - Cool down/Stretching 5:30-6:00 - Varsity or JV - Weightroom/Circuits

Clothing Please bring warm clothing to meets and practices.
It is not as warm as you think it is. Be prepared for all weather. Don’t forget your uniform on meet days. Get a pair of shoes for training and a pair of shoes for competition (specialty shoes, spikes). 2018 clothing order

Spring Break Spring break for the 2018 track and field season is during our 4th week of practice, from March 24th through April 1st. If you have a trip planned, that is great! Enjoy the time away and have a fun, safe time. If you are staying in town, we will still be having practice and will expect the athletes to be there. Practice time will still be from 4-6 pm. If you are out of town, we ask you to do something on your own to that you don’t lose everything you gained in the first 3 weeks of practice. See our website for spring break workouts.
