“The Danger of Apathy”
2
“Apathy” Apathy may be a problem that we are struggling with.
“Apathy” is synonymous with… “Lack of concern” “Lack of interest” “Laziness” “Boredom” Apathetic attitudes may lead us toward being idle, which is NOT a good thing (1 Timothy 5:11-15)
3
Potential Contributors to Apathy
Gluttony (Intemperance) (Proverbs 25:16, 27) There are limits to the amount of “good things” we handle before it becomes harmful to us. Constant pleasure-seeking can take our eye off of the work that needs to be done. (Ezekiel 16:49-50, Amos 6:3-7) Covetousness brings sorrow (1Timothy 6:10)
4
Potential Contributors to Apathy
Under-exertion Proverbs 12:27 “The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, But diligence is man's precious possession.” Proverbs 19:15 “ Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, And an idle person will suffer hunger.” Proverbs 19:24 “A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl, And will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.” Proverbs 26:14 “As a door turns on its hinges, So does the lazy man on his bed.” 2 Thessalonians 3:11 “For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.”

(1 Timothy 6:6-10) Are you content with your lot in life? (Philippians 4:11-13)
