Canadian Identity What does it mean when Canada is described as a “Cultural Mosaic”?

A Cultural Mosaic In many ways, Canada has set the standard for a global world. Although there are notable gaps, we have, throughout our history, done our best to make diversity work. Co-operation among First Peoples, people of European heritage as well as an influx of immigrants from around the world has shaped and continues to shape who we are. We are not perfect, but we strive to make our democracy work within a cultural mosaic.
