2 The Navy League of Canada
The Navy League of Canada was established in 1895 to promote an interest in Maritime Affairs generally throughout Canada. Today, The Navy League of Canada has a presence in over 260 Canadian communities. Our youth programs benefit 15,000 young Canadians every year, and we continue to grow. The modern Navy League focuses on three key programs: -Maritime Affairs -Royal Canadian Sea Cadets -Navy League Cadets

We support both the Navy League Cadets and Royal Canadian Sea Cadet programs at a National, Regional and Local level.

The Vancouver Island Division is made up of eleven independent branches Saanich Peninsula Victoria Juan De Fuca Sooke Cowichan (Duncan) Nanaimo Oceanside (Parksville) Comox Valley Campbell River Port Alberni Powell River

8 What is a Branch A local Branch is responsible for funding 100% of the Navy League Cadet program as well as certain costs associated with the National Sea Cadet Program supplied by the Department of National Defense. (DND) These cost include; (NL33) Building Upkeep Insurance (Liability) Furniture Insurance (Premises, Boats, Liabilities) Training Supplies Office Supplies Canoes and PFD’s Safety Boat (upkeep, fuel) Training Sailboat (upkeep, moorage, insurance, fuel) Food for onboard weekends and during travel to events Travel expenses for optional training events.

Have Diversity on your Branch Identify Key Needs and Seek Out best candidate Recruit Parents as helpers 1st – Then “assimilate” Approach DND Reserve Units Approach your Community Supportors Legions, Community Clubs Others ?

Feel Acknowledged for their efforts, ideas and SWEAT ! Enjoy Watching our fine Cadets Grow Personal Reasons Need on a Resume Want to feel that they have had a positive impact on a Young Adult
