2 Purpose To allow Servicemembers on active duty to complete training required under Civilian apprenticeship programs Combines on-the-job training (OJT) and related technical instruction Provides a DOL Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship to employers

3 Background The program was established March 1976 by written agreement between the Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of the Navy. Became known as US MAP after the Coast Guard and Marine Corps joined. 124 Registered Occupations 85,648 Active Apprentices

5 Why US MAPS? Free #nobrainer Easy (Just log hours)
Highly Beneficial(Both in and outside Military) This is a voluntary individual professional development program (We can’t force Sailors) Average Salary is about 50k Which is about 24 /hr If you compare that to the worksheet that was given to us, you can see that a single or even a married family can start off well.
