Student Feedback Actual career experience is the only way to see if you will like a job. A lot of fantasies are kept over four years in college, but on this externship you get to experience what the next 40 years would be like. – Sophomore, Wiess School of Natural Sciences I really liked the interactions with people coming from very different backgrounds who ended up in the same company. It really inspired me to consider a wider range of career choices and not be restrained to what I am currently studying. – Junior, Brown School of Engineering The best thing I took from this experience was how to conduct myself in a professional environment; I have been in such an environment multiple times before, but going to this company day after day made me more comfortable and open. – Freshman, Economics and Managerial Studies As a non-STEM major, I was worried about entering consulting with a less mathematical background. However, I was told that as long as I nail down my basic mental math, I could do well. I feel more comfortable about joining the recruiting process in the fall. – Junior, Policy Studies, Political Science

Host Feedback Our extern gave everyone she worked with in our organization (including a Harvard Law graduate) a very positive impression of the quality of Rice students, both intellectually, and in the collaborative communication skills necessary for a successful career in public law. We have offered her a Summer Internship. – Alumnus, Law, Houston The Owl Edge Externship Program does a great job of connecting Rice students to the greater organizational network available to them. The Owl Edge program provided us with a very strong externship match in terms of skills, experience, and career interest -- I think this is key to the continued success of the program. – Alumnus, Business, Dallas Participating in the Owl Edge Externship Program was easy and personally rewarding for me and hopefully our visiting student as well. – Alumnus, Law, Houston
