EVOLUTE basic principles
Readhead sensor is analogous to a digital camera Image of scale is taken by readhead Raw data extracted from image and processed Error checking algorithm extrapolates the next reading and compares with actual for enhanced safety Please read the notes below: Readhead sensor is analogous to a digital camera. Image of scale is taken by the readhead on receipt of a position request pulse. Raw data is extracted from the image. Digital signal processing is performed and fine position is determined by interpolation. Digital absolute position code is produced which is subsequently interpreted by reference to a look-up table (shown). Position information is determined by separate ‘error checking’ algorithms that eliminate the risk of common cause failure. ** Slide animates the scale and output waveform together – the presenter should allow several seconds for this to run** 11/11/2018

RTLA50 Lengths to m ±10 µm/m accuracy (slope + linearity) at 20 °C FASTRACK™ carrier mounting Self-adhesive backing tape for easy installation RTLA50-S Please read below: RTLA50-S / RTLA50: hardened stainless-steel tape scale is available in long lengths to m and can be locked with adhesive to the substrate (substrate-mastered) on account of its small cross-section; also available with the FASTRACK™ carrier system.
