 Doctors of Coburg North is a family-orientated practice.
We are committed to providing our patients with the best quality medical care in an environment that is warm, caring, safe, professional and respectful.
We are a fully accredited practice. We pride ourselves in achieving and maintaining the highest level of patient care.
Telephoning your doctor:
Doctors in this practice may be contacted by phone during normal surgery hours. If the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned as soon as possible. If your call is urgent, you will always be put straight through to the doctor.
Referrals:
Referrals to a specialist may be made during the consultation. Standard referrals are valid for one year so please ensure you book an appointment before your referral runs out.
Prescriptions:
Prescriptions may be written during a consultation. If you need repeat prescriptions, we ask that you make an appointment to see one of our doctors, where the condition for which the prescriptions are written can be checked.
Results:
 Sometimes your doctor will order investigations such as blood tests or x-rays. For confidentiality reasons, please book in for a return appointment to discuss the results.
Fees:
The practice bulk bills for medical consultations. Our receptionist can advise you of costs not covered by Medicare.
If you do not have a Medicare card, you will be advised by reception of your out of pocket costs. Overseas students with valid OSHC cover with AHM, Allianz & NIB will be bulk billed for doctors visits.
Interpreter Service:
 If you require an interpreter please let us know when you book your appointment. We can book an interpreter via The Interpreter Services. This service is free of charge to patients who have a valid Medicare Card.
Confidentiality:
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of your personal health information at all times and ensure this information is only available to authorized members of staff.
Patients of our practice have the right to access their personal health information under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
This practice is dedicated to your confidentiality and privacy of health information. At times, the doctor participates in research, professional development and quality assurance. This can involve in the collection of patient data. However this information is de-identified and those involved in analysis of the data would not be able to identify which patient has been included.
After Hours Home Visits:
For after hours home visits, please call
132660, please notify operator that you are a patient of Doctors of Coburg North. If you have a valid Medicare card, you will be bulk billed.
Home Visits during Surgery Hours:
Home visits are covered by our doctors for regular patients of the clinic within a 5km radius of Coburg. Please call
There may be a cancellation fee if we do not receive notice of your cancellation.
Appointments:
An appointment for a standard consultation will be made with your preferred doctor or the next available doctor, depending on your preference.
Extended consultations are available on request. If you anticipate that your consultation will be long, please advise the receptionist when making the appointment.
SMS message reminders for appointment times are sent at 5pm on the day prior to the appointment.
If you are unable to attend your appointment please phone the clinic to cancel so that we can offer that appointment time to another patient.
Reminder System:
 Our practice is committed to preventative care and we may issue you with reminder notices or practice information from time to time.
Please advise the staff if you do not wish to participate in this program.
