Content SICO tests comments on Dynamic dyno measurements/procedure
Static dyno measurements/procedure Test track measurements/procedure Dynamic road measurement Results Note all calculations are done with the data of the measured vehicle so no production spread is included in these results.
3
Dynamic cycle on dyno A vehicle will not perform on the dyno as it would on the road EBS needs to be fooled to make it think the front wheels are turning Automatic shifting is not reproducible: Manual shifting required Braking is hard to reproduce for the driver. Fan is locked, external air and power supply Cycle too dynamic to stay within speed band. Dynamics of the cycle increases sensor drift torque meter Driveline Temperature uncontrolled Conclusion Dynamic cycles on the dyno are sensitive to reaction of control systems that cannot use the same information as on the road. this requires a lot of workarounds which is not acceptable.
4
Steady state points on dyno
Required modifications, EBS needs to be turned off Manual shifting required Fan is locked, external air and power supply Results Very good reproducibility <1% Adjustable load points (based on vecto)
5
Steady state Test track measurement
Proposed Procedure not exactly executable too long straight stretches required. Changes required to either: Use same stretches as the air drag, disadvantage is the low fuel amount and resulting inaccuracy. Drive predefined speeds and weights, reproduce measured load point in vecto, for comparison High run-in time (100h) for new customer vehicle undesired incorporate in the tolerance. Use a full test track lap at constant speed. Fuel measurement can be calibrated on a larger amount Quasi static due to curb resistance, recalculate torque profile in vecto
6
Dynamic road measurement
Driving in traffic conditions is not reproducible, shifting dynamics not part of vecto. ….. Representativity of vecto should not be part of the sico test.
