3. Vision
The Parkview High School Counseling Department envisions all students being successful in their post-secondary pursuits through the application of the knowledge and skills learned from our program. Students will live empowered lives, motivated to fulfill their dreams and reach their greatest potential.

4. PHS Counselors Believe
All students are unique, have value and worth
All students have the ability to learn and are life-long learners

All students benefit from and have equitable access to a data-driven, comprehensive counseling program
All students should be served by certified professional School Counselors who continually participate in professional development opportunities

5. Mission
The mission of the Parkview High School Counseling Department is to support and assist all students in the pursuit of excellence in academic knowledge, skills, and behavior as they develop their post-secondary plans. All students through the participation in a comprehensive, developmental and data driven counseling program will be provided with opportunities to achieve their greatest potential. The counselors will also effectively collaborate and consult with students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members to address and remove barriers to student success. The counseling program ensures all students have equitable access to learn academic, career- oriented, and social/emotional skills that help them to become healthy, successful, and world-class citizens.

6. Program Goals
1) By May 25, 2016, ninth and tenth grade Hispanic/Latino students who missed 6 to 10 days in the previous school year (14- 15) and 5 or more during first semester of the current school year (15-16) will miss fewer than 5 days during the second semester.
2) By May 25, 2016, the number of retained black male students in grades 9-12 from the previous school year ( ) will decrease by 50%, from 51 to 25.
3) By May 25, 2016, the drop out rate percentage of English Language Learners in grades 9-12 will decreased by 50%, from 39 to 19.5.

7. Results as of Today
Goal 1 Intervention-small group held: 6 session from January 21-March 3 Goal for Group: By February 26th, the students will have 3 or less absences in order to receive a certificate. Six out of eleven students met this goal. Therefore, we had 6/11=54.5 % of students who met the goal. 10/11 = 91% of students had 5 or fewer unexcused absences 7/11 = 64% of students had 5 or fewer excused or unexcused absences

8. Results as of Today Goal 2
Intervention- small group held: October 30th-May 4th,
5 sessions -1st semester; 8 sessions -2nd semester
Results: We met our goal, the number of Retained Black Males is down to 19 students. Of the original 51 students: 10 were inactive after the start of school yr, 9 withdrew, 19 are still retained and 13 have enough credits to be promoted.

9. Results as of Today Goal 3 Interventions:
4 part curriculum unit for targeted group (53 students in ESOL Program)-dates January 22, 29, March 14, May 9
small group held-5 sessions March 31-May 5 (8 students who were formerly served by the ESOL program)
Results: 37% (7 students) of dropouts were served by the ESOL program a 2% reduction from previous school year. (Out of the 7 students 6 were formerly monitored , 1 was assessment only. )

This school year 100% of directly served students are still in school; a 45% increase from the previous school year.
