During this period of change, parents are a key source of support for children. Both parents and children will benefit if spending time together is made a priority. Although adolescence will present challenges for young people and their parents, awareness and communication can help pave the way for a smooth transition into this exciting phase of life. This talk will help parents anticipate certain expectations and developmental tasks that might be tossed at their children as they embark the next phase of their lives. Equipping them with this foreknowledge promises to reduce students’ stress levels and let them understand that they are not alone if they do face struggles. Family rituals are important to the health and well being of today's busy families. They promote a sense of identity and belonging. Rituals are important because they provide opportunities for communication, problem solving, and time of celebration together as a family. They also help to reinforce family values, faith and life experiences. As family bonds are weakened by busy lifestyles, families can stay connected only by being intentional about maintaining important rituals and traditions. Kids love and cling to family rituals because they are predictable and stable in an unpredictable world. They remind children that they can depend on something! In this programme, we will include the followings: v Understand the difference between a routine and a ritual v Pick up tips on how you can create meaningful rituals for your family to enjoy v Learn how to creatively turn routine activities into fun family time and start you own family traditions for generations to come To register, SMS to Coordinator, Closing Date : Friday, 5 January 2018
