7 Mini-Lesson: Creating a Proactive Learning Plan
Step 1: Look at and read the grading criteria (Rubric) and task question. Step 2: Open up a blank Google Doc Make a numbered or bulleted list of steps you will need to address all aspects of the task from start to finish. Step 3: Make a list of resources you will use to complete the task (Inside and outside info). Example: Inside (Main reading) Outside: Previous lessons, documents, videos). Step 4: Write 1-3 steps to planning your work not listed in the Mini- Lesson (Every learner is different). Step 5: Turn to a partner and discuss your proactive learning plan Mini-Lesson: Creating a Proactive Learning Plan

8 What is an Argumentative Response?
An extended response to a two sided question. Uses different perspectives on a debatable topic Evaluate Pro vs Con (Good and Bad) Evaluate/analyze: Fact and fiction (Who is truthful? Who is lying?) Use evidence to back up claims Never write the word “I”

Why did the United States Invade Cuba? Make sure your plan addresses how you will answer this question!!!

Address and answer the essay question Follow your learning plan What are the steps you have to take in order to get a 4, (Advanced), grade on your argumentative response?

11 Independent Practice Download the following attachments under class projects: Planning My Argumentative Response Guided Questions and Extended Response Zinn Reading Rubric Open your Proactive Learner Plan from Tuesday and finish it. Submit to engrade turn-ins (Planning My Argumentative Response). When you are done: Scroll to the next slide and complete the Lesson Assessment
