Sanha OH Target audience: women who live on their own in London Focused group: Kingston university students Problem: safety, mental health(homesick, loneliness, isolation, depression) Solution: making online platform to connect the women who live on their own in London

Do you feel the need to join the connection group? (which consists of women who live on their on in London)? 5. Would you prefer the offline meeting of connection group? 6. What do you expect to the connection group? 7. Have you ever felt the loneliness or isolation while living on your own? 8. Are you an international student? 9. Do you have someone who support&help you in London?

5 Survey Analysis Survey target: KU female students who live on their own in London Survey method: SurveyMonkey(online) Number of respondents: 11 73% of respondents have lived in London in under 1 year 82% of respondents are international students 55% responded that they feel the need to join the connection group which consists of women who live on their on in London 45% responded that they are not sure to join into offline meeting of platform 55% responded that they do not have someone who support&help them in London The most expected benefit of the platform was “feeling connected”. The responses that helping each other and sharing knowhow to live on their own were next

No.1 Loneliness (answers of respondents) lonely nights, depression, drinking alcohol alone, no boundaries, lack of motivation Not having many people to talk, feeling lonely, missing my family No.2 Housework buying groceries, cooking just for myself, doing laundry, cleaning the whole house myself

7 Survey Analysis Q. Dangerous things in living alone: No.1 Safety
(answers of respondents) no one is there to make sure I get home safe every night, nobody at home in case of an accident, going to home at night No.2 Mental health depression, extreme expression can lead to suicide when you are alone and no one would even know

8 Conclusion of Survey All of respondents answered that they felt the loneliness or isolation while living on their own This survey result shows the high correlation between living alone and feeling lonely It could be the proof of necessity of the platform for women who live on their own

10 Contact to KU student union
Connect UK International Society I visited the student union of KU(in Penrhyn Road campus), and met two staffs of student union center for research. There is connect group(Connect UK International Society) for international students as a society of university. Connect UK International Society has membership fee(3£), and it is not well known to international student. Also, there is not the platform or service for female students who live on their own in KU.
