The device features a total harmonic distortion (THD) optimization circuit to reduce line current harmonics. The controller has high noise immunity simplifying design and reducing system cost. The IRS2500 PFC control IC expands IR’s existing SMPS and general lighting device portfolios. The new device reduces noise sensitivity, eases PCB layout and provides a cost effective alternative to existing solutions. November 2011
