Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling is the concluding novel in a seven book series about a boy growing up in a world that most people don’t know exists. Harry has attended Hogwarts for the last six years and has made many friends as well as a few enemies. Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger befriended Harry from the very first novel and are still by his side in the final book. Harry, Ron, and Hermione face intense conflicts as they run from Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Without the structure of school, they are on their own and must rely heavily on one another to survive. In the novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J.K. Rowling uses conflict and characterization to illustrate the theme that in true friendships, people working together and relying on each other’s skills will allow them to overcome any obstacle.
