1 Projected 2017 ARC-Co, ARC-I, and PLC Payment Rates
Breana Watkins Program Associate, Agricultural Economics Cooperative Extension Service June 2018

2 Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC)
ARC (County) is based on revenue (Yield * Price) County yields and national prices are applied to determine the benchmark revenue and the actual crop revenue. Applied price is the higher of : The national average market price received during the 12 month marketing year. The national average loan rate for the crop.

3 Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC)
ARC (County) allows separate irrigated and non-irrigated ARC benchmark revenues. Benchmark revenue is a moving measure for the 5 most recent years. Payments are on 85% of base acres for a crop. 95% of soybean acres, 86% of corn acres, 57% of wheat acres, 64% of sorghum, and 67% of oat acres elected ARC. FSA has designated production practices for ARC yields by irrigation type in some counties. Some county yields are designated as all, which is a combination of irrigation types.

4 Price Loss Coverage (PLC)
PLC covers losses in actual revenue due to commodity price declines below established reference prices. Payments are made when the effective price is less than the reference price. The effective price is the higher of: The national average market price received during the 12 month marketing year. The national average loan rate for the crop

5 Price Loss Coverage (PLC)
Reference Price is established in the Farm Bill for each covered commodity. Payments are determined by payment yields established with USDA Payments are on 85% of base acres for a crop. Nearly 100% of long-grain rice acres, 96% of medium-grain rice acres, 99% of peanut acres, and 43% of wheat acres elected PLC.
