National Environmental Policy Act of 1969
NEPA is a national policy. NEPA’s basic policy is to make sure all branches of government give proper consideration to the environment and promote enhancement between the population and their environment. Efforts are made to eliminate damage to the environment. Actions covered by the NEPA: Making decisions on permit applications Adopting federal land management actions Constructing highways and other publicly owned facilities

National Environmental Policy Act of 1969
NEPA’s requirements are invoked when airports, buildings, military complexes, highways, parkland purchases, and other federal activities are proposed. The EPA has responsibilities and enforces NEPA’s regulations.
