Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976
Passed by United States Congress in 1976 Administered by the Environmental Protection Agency Provides the Environmental Protection Agency with the ability to record, and test chemicals and mixtures Three main objectives of this act were to regulate new commercial chemicals, to regulate chemicals already existing in 1976, and to regulate these chemicals distribution and use in the market

Dominated by EPA to monitor toxic chemicals found on our planet
All companies must notify the EPA before shipping or manufacturing new chemicals for commerce Exceptions for this law include food additives, drugs, cosmetics, pesticides, and tobacco products due to laws passed by Congress
