We train people, we train professionals. This presentation intends to be a refreshment session for senior Magellan partners as well as an introduction to new partners that might not know the UPV well enough. Magellan Partners since March 31, 2004 Education for employment.

4 About the UPV The UPV is more than 40 years old,
but some of its centres are even older: more than 100 years old. ARWU ranking: 1st technological university in Spain.

6 Accreditation The UPV offers four degree programmes accredited by the American agency ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), which recognizes them as equivalent to the master's studies taught in the USA in their respective disciplines. In addition, the UPV offers two degrees with the EUR-ACE quality seal and four more with the EURO-INF seal. All degrees in Spain have to pass a National Accreditation Process

International Exchange Programs Office (OPII) Coordination of exchange programs Representing UPV at international Forums Schools’ International Offices Management of student exchanges ( enrolment, academic advice, school orientation, buddy program, sign Erasmus agreements, etc.)

11 Coming on Exchange to the UPV Course Offer
Students are allowed to take courses from different Schools, however at least 60 % of the selected courses must belong to the hosting school. Around 250 courses offered in English and English friendly: UPV Schools recommend / require a minimum course load of 25 credits per semester. Some Schools may have some pre-requisites concerning course selection: announced in the online application form. Some courses may also have pre-requisites which must be considered before making a selection. Insufficient background may result into course denial. Hosting schools can only guarantee for acceptance in their own courses. Enrolment in courses outside the hosting schools will depend on the spaces available after registering their own students.*

SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSES Pre-semester Intensive language course (Gandia Campus). Fee Paying 40 hours - 4 ECTS Levels: - A1, A2 - Basic User - B1, B2 - Independent User - C1, C2 - Proficient User Separate registration and transcripts. Regular Spanish language courses Free for Exchange students 3.6 ECTS Courses in Valencia and Gandia - A1, A2 - Basic User - B1, B2 - Independent User Application from the “Spanish” section in the online exchange application form

ACCOMMODATION Sharing or renting a Flat This is the most common choice among exchange students. Price: from 250 to 350€ per month Tools: UPV Searching engine or private providers Private companies or tools for rental search: Living with a Family Price: from 200 to 600€ per month (higher prices if meals are included) Students dorms There are many student dorms around our Campuses. There is on-campus accommodation in the Valencia Campus, but also many in the near surrounding area. Prices: around 600 to 700€ with meal plans

16 Coming on Exchange at the UPV Buddy Program Buddy Program aims at partnering UPV students with incoming exchange students from the same School. Buddy partners will help with daily life, administrative and academic issues during the stay.

UPV receives around 2200 international students each year Upon arrival students receive orientation from their hosting school UPV organizes a general orientation session for all international students in Mid September/Mid February
