The Women’s Movement (1848) The Seneca Falls Convention marked the start of the women’s rights movement and the fight for women’s suffrage, or the right to vote. -In the 1800’s, Women could not vote, serve on juries, hold public office, or work in most jobs or professions. -Leaders for the women’s rights movement at Seneca Falls were Susan B. Anthony & Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Reform Movement
