Overriding Questions OSMRE’S role in potential renewal?
They renewed in April 2018 State and County permitting responsibilities? King County prepared SEPA EIS in conjunction of rezoning in 1985 King County required grading permit that was issued in 1986 and renewed each year thereafter Washington DOE issued NPDES permit in 1986 and has renewed or administratively extended every five years What reclamation activities are required and planned? Reclamation must be contemporaneous with mining. Overburden from main Pit 2 will be backfilled into Pit 1 to create riparian border around final cut lake. At the completion of mining, Pit 2 will be filled from external overburden stockpiles to achieve approximate original contours. The regraded land is covered with stockpiled topsoil, seeded with a grass mix and planted with Douglas fir. Washington assuming primacy. They can anytime it makes sense to the state.
