4 What to expect Rho Gamma will help guide you to different sororities with your rho group Long days on your feet!! (be comfy!!) Singing/chanting as you enter/exit sorority rooms (or parties) Conversations with one or more member of the organizations Choosing your top choices at the end of each night You may ask any questions about the organization to sorority women Conversation is a two way street - talk about ANYTHING. (i.e food, travel, hobbies, etc.) You will make friends with chapter women, your rho gamma, or your rho group no matter what!

5 Terminology Bid Day: The last day of recruitment, when potential new members receive bids to join chapters and become new members. Initiation: A traditional ceremony that brings a new member into full membership of a sorority or fraternity Legacy: A daughter, sister or granddaughter of an initiated member of a sorority. **A legacy does not guarantee a bid from the sorority** New member: A person who has accepted a bid from a sorority but is not yet an active member of that chapter. Potential new member (PNM): A woman who is eligible to participate in recruitment. Recruitment counselor (Rho Gamma): A sorority member who is disassociated from her sorority to serve as a recruitment guide. Each PNM will be assigned a recruitment counselor during primary recruitment. Panhellenic Council (Pi Chi): A sorority member who is disassociated from her sorority to serve on the Panhellenic Council (executive board) Values-based recruitment: A recruitment style that focuses on meaningful conversations between active members and potential new members with the goal of recruiting women who will have a positive impact on chapters and the Panhellenic community.

13 Preference Night Cocktail: Dress, heels, slacks, blouse, pants, flats, sandals, blazer, cardigan **Note** Walking between sorority parties might be a bit far so wear comfortable shoes (e.g flats, sandals)

15 Attire: Shorts, closed-toe shoes, zip-up hoodie, tank top (will be replaced by sorority shirt)

16 General Advice BE YOURSELF! Be the best version of yourself
Be comfortable Wear clothes and shoes that you feel comfortable being in all day and walking/standing for long periods of time in GET EXCITED!!!
