History of Tarpon Springs High School
The first school was built in and had 4 Rooms and two levels (Elementary downstairs, upper levels upstairs). *First graduating class in had 3 graduates. *First Yearbook in 1917 *First Sponger Football Team in 1925 History of Tarpon Springs High School

Tarpon Springs High School Achievements
Ranked an "A" school by Florida Department of Education since 2012. Home of the 2014 Bands of America Grand National Performing Bands Champion Ranked Number 30 in the State of Florida for SAT scores. Academies of Pinellas Outstanding Achievement Award Area Tarpon Springs HS has received the 2015 Golden School Award for community involvement.

Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy
JCAA is a state of the art Culinary school that is part of the Tarpon Springs High School campus. There are three Chefs dedicated to their students. Students can apply in their 8th grade year of school through the Pinellas County School District. Culinary students follow the usual high-school curriculum, but spend 1.5 hours each day in the culinary academy. Culinary students receive ProStart and ServSafe Certifications

Veterinary Science Academy
Models a comprehensive, modern veterinary facility and maintains clinical standards Students accrue 250+ volunteer hours in a work setting under the supervision of a licensed Veterinarian (D.V.M) or Certified Veterinary Technician (C.V.T). Earn an industry certification as a Veterinary Technician Assistant. Classes Offered: Veterinary Assistant 1 - 5 Equine Studies Veterinary Certification

Early Childhood Education
On-campus preschool facility which enrolls children ages 3-5 years old Students accrue 450 hours working with preschool children Courses offered: Early Childhood Education Levels 1-4 Students earn industry certification through the Department of Children and Families 40- clock hours as well as First-Aid and CPR Level 4 students may acquire National Credentials (Child Development Associate) through the office of Professional Recognition to teach VPK.

Business Education Courses Offered:
Digital Design, 1, 2, 3, & 4 - Certification in Adobe Indesign and Photoshop Computers for College and Careers (Pre-requisite for all classes) - Microsoft Word & Excel Certification Java Development and Programming Foundations of Programming Procedural Programming Object Orientied Programming Fundamentals Java Programming Essentials College articulation credit is available for course completers with the required GPA and enrollment at SPC the term after their graduation. Contact SPC or your teacher. Bright Futures credit can be earned with Program completion.

Why CTE? CTE classes help you connect what you’re education to real world application. You will gain skills to help you get become employable after graduation. CTE Programs help you explore career options and meet business leaders who work in the industry. Some CTE programs also earn college credit while in high school. Research also shows that students in career and technical education programs are more likely to graduate from high school than those who don’t.

Who can take CTE? Any student grades 9-12 who choose to participate in CTE programs Academy programs (Culinary & Veterinary Science) require acceptance through an application process with Pinellas County School District.
