Congratulations on your new position! As a benefit-eligible employee, a variety of benefits are available to you through the Archdiocese of Boston Benefit Trusts. This presentation will provide you with basic plan information and options available to you as a new hire or newly benefit eligible employee.

The Archdiocese Dental Plan is a self-insured plan administered by Delta Dental. ID cards are issued by mail by Delta Dental and are typically received by members within 14 days. The Dental Plan provides two national networks of providers as well as coverage for out-of-network services. Using a provider in the Delta PPO network provides the greatest savings for employees. You can use the “Find a Dentist” link on our website or the Delta Dental website to find an in-network dentist. Preventative services, such as cleanings and x-rays, are covered at 100%. Restorative services, such as fillings, are covered at 80%, and major restorative services, such as crowns and root canals, are covered at 50%. There are 2 covered cleanings per calendar year. The Plan also covers orthodontics up to $1,000 per person per lifetime. Some limits on pre-existing orthodontia apply.

If you have at least one cleaning or checkup within the calendar year and your total plan year claims do not exceed $700
$500 can be rolled over toward next year’s annual maximum

The calendar year maximum for claims is $1,500 per person. However, up to $500 in rollover funds can be accrued for future years if you have at least one cleaning or checkup within the prior calendar year and your total plan year claims in the prior calendar year do not exceed $700. Members must be enrolled for one full calendar year to be eligible for the rollover max. A full Coverage Summary is available on our website.
