business highlights Revenue for the quarter was INR 4555 million, an increase of 9% over the same quarter last year. EBITDA for the quarter was INR 699 million, an increase of 12% over the same quarter last year. Net Profit for the quarter was INR 174 million, an increase of 39% over the same quarter last year. CAPEX during the quarter was INR 573 million. Cash balance at the end of the quarter was INR 1820 million.

Let us now zoom into three key elements on which the foundation of digital IT is constructed. Seamless Access :- Sify has built a high capacity, application centric network backbone to enable seamless access to your offices, remote users, and end customers. This enables you to reach your end consumers via all modes of connectivity, on all modes of touchpoints – mobile, web, social, kiosk or branch locations. The second key element is Infrastructure choices to run your Digital IT footprint. We have built Digital Ready Cloud centers to offer you choices across public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud as well as Managed Hosting. Cloud Centers are connected over Global Cloud Connect fabric to enable direct high capacity access to AWS, Azure, as well as multiple other data centers in India. Cloud centers coupled with Cloudconnect fabric, offers you unique and differentiated proposition of leveraging the right cloud model, with high capacity, high performance network connectivity. Both these two key elements (Access Capabilities and Cloud Centers), are built on our core competency of Network and DC Transformation practices. Keeping you ahead Applications Branches Regions HQ PRIVATE NETWORKS Private Cloud Backup & DR Dev Cloud MPLS/IP Backbone IoT SMACnet Edge DC Remote User As I discussed about 2 key elements of Digital IT –Secure Seamless Access and Agile, Scalable –IT. We believe this is the blue print of how will the Network and IT of future will pan out to deliver the Digital IT transformation. All this while our network has been connecting remote users, branches, RO’s and HQ / Data Centers over MPLS / IP backbone. Today’s and future enterprise network will not be restricted to these entities alone, our network has to extend to Social Cloud, Connected Smart devices, mobile users as well as IT setups. To enable secure seamless access across enterprise network as well as social, mobile, and smart devices , we have built SMACnet IP backbone. In April 2016 we announced our SMACnet strategy –to address the needs of enterprises going through a digital transformation. The four pillars of the strategy are based on: 1. Social Enterprise – As we see the rise of millennial generation, boundaries between and personal and professional life in social world will blur. Traditional security models that are rigid, fixed will no longer cater to the workplace requirements of the generation and style of work. What will change very fundamentally is the context of the perimeter, the user and the device. 2. Mobile experience – Mobile will be the device of preferred usage and all enterprise apps will be consumed through mobile device. This will require in-depth intelligence at the network layer to provide seamless secure experience by automatically identifying the device type and access mechanism. 3. IoT will generate huge amount of data through smart devices which needs to be processed and analyzed for meaningful information. We will see emergence of Edge DCs and need for connecting these edge DCs to the central DCs The enterprise IT of the future will no longer be confined to Silo- data centers. The IT of future will be spread across multiple DCs and cloud suiting business needs and will require high capacity, high performance connectivity fabric. Sify has built globalcloudconnect network to connect all major data centers in India and cloud providers in India and globally. The globalcloudconnect enables you to decide your IT tenancy without bothering about network access or security considerations. If I look at our own IT at Sify, today our Salesforce app runs on a cloud located in US. Our collaboration and messaging platform runs out of O365 and our core Oracle financial system runs from our own cloud in our data centers. Same user requires secure accesses to all these three business applications seamlessly using same ID, same password and from device of their choice -mobile, laptop, desktop , anywhere anytime Service providers will emerge as DC aggregators bringing together multiple clouds (AWS,Azure) and IT deployment platforms (Private Cloud / Hybrid Cloud) to deliver Agility, Scalability and business aligned consumption models.
