14 ARE THESE PROGRAMMES FOR YOU?
Consider the following: 1. Curriculum AEP/MEP How Long ? Four-year programme (Sec 1 – 4) What would you learn? Broad and In-depth study in Art/Music making, performing, theory and history What else? Not having to take Food and Consumer Education and Design & Technology at the Lower (and possibly Upper) Secondary Any examination? School-based exams each year and the GCE O-Level Higher Art/Music Examination at the end of Secondary 4 Before you apply, these are some information you need to take note of: On duration. These start from sec 1 and you are expected to stay in the programme and complete the four-year course. Next, you have to think about what you would learn in the programme. AEP/MEP provides a more in-depth study into Art/Music making, performing, theory and history One other thing to note is that For AEP and MEP, because the extended lessons starts from Sec 1, you will not need to take subjects like i.e. Design & Technology and Food and Consumer Education that all your other friends will take. Also, for both programmes, you are expected to sit for exams at various stages and the GCE O level at Secondary 4.

15 ARE THESE PROGRAMMES FOR YOU?
Consider the following: 2. Time Management and commitment Coping with extended lessons, additional projects and assignments 3. Distance Travelling to schools (especially for external AEP/MEP students) Other things you may want to think about and discuss with your parents is how being in the AEP/MEP centres will affect your time and commitment as a whole. For example, if you have other enrichment programmes outside school, or if you’re interested in a CCA that requires a lot of practice or rehearsal time, you need to think how being in the AEP/MEP will affect how you spend your time. Another important consideration is the travelling arrangement, and the travelling distance and time to the AEP/MEP centres. For example, are you able to travel to the centres and back home on your own by public transport within the given time?
