Finding (within development) On-Screen Tag Errors using Object Explorer Module
When Tag errors occur on a PanelView Plus, sometimes it’s related to a consolidation of tag words in the processor to free up memory. There may be hidden, now unused formally correct addresses that now show errors at runtime. Often, the addressing is buried in the program and is difficult to find. Using version 7.00, you can use Find. Once you find the display that has the error, you can use the Object Explorer to isolate and remove or fix the addressing. Other Object Explorer Uses and Tips will be covered.

Troubleshooting Serial Communications
Often, Ethernet connectivity is used but occasionally a serial communication is needed due to cost constraints or due to emergency. This may be the only unit available (Serial Only) Operator Interface or Controller until another unit arrives. With USB common and Serial Ports rare in laptops, USB To Serial cables are used and most addresses are never Com Port 1. This and a few other “gotchas” will be covered in this troubleshooting demonstration.
10
Usage of RSLogix™Emulate5000 and RSLogix Emulate 500™
Demonstration on setting up an Emulate 5000 Controller when a lab is not available or when traveling and tag browsing and testing is needed. Also covered is the method of using RSLogix Emulate 500 with and RS Linx OPC Topic.

Using VNC and FTP during development (PanelView Plus 6)
Demonstration on how to access your remote Panelview with VNC Also covered is how to set up FTP so as to easily copy paste between your PC and PanelView Plus (Note. You cannot copy paste between VNC and your desktop.
12
Selector Button Usage (Using Two Multistate Indicators)
Demonstration on option aside from using Multi State Indicators when space is limited – Use selector buttons in tandem This is similar to automobiles information buttons whereas one press changes information shown

Expressions: Numeric Display vs. Numeric Input Cursor Point
Brief Presentation on when it is better to use a Numeric Input Cursor Point instead of a Numeric Display
14
Using a Literal String with Text Box and Parameter / Parameter Pass
Often asked question on how to use a Literal String in a text box. Using a parameter pass and file is needed in FactoryTalk View machine edition.
15
Using Macros with Web Viewer ActiveX
Demonstration on Web Viewer ActiveX with Macros to load Controller Data and possibly Web pages with a look and feel of Interlock Buttons

Identifying PanelView Plus by IP Address Using ME_TerminalInfoControl ActiveX
Demonstration on how to use the ME_TerminalInfoControl Active X to write one program with many startup displays that load based on the IP Address of the PanelView Plus This is a demonstration on how you can write one program that has several different applications (displays) that will startup exclusively based on the IP address of the PanelView Plus Also covered is other benefits within the ME_TerminalInfoControl ActiveX Only for Panelview Plus 7.00 or higher Previous alternative ME IP Info Active X
