4 3 Years for GCSE Success GCSEs have greater challenge from 2017
Students will consolidate 12 subjects into 10 Focus still on the core of Mathematics and English Pathway subjects have 5 hours per fortnight for 3 years, rather than just 2 years First term of Year 9 presents a foundation for successful GCSE studies so there is flexibility to change the GCSE choice if required.

13 1. Y8 Pathways evening – 17th January Subject information shared with parents & students

14 2. Y8 Annual Reports published on the Parental Portal in February to guide subject choice.

15 5. Opportunity to discuss subject choices at Y8 Progress Evening on 8th February.

16 3. Experience week 2nd March Guidance on choosing subjects with a week of KS4 taster lessons.

17 4. Final subject selection from 3 Pathway blocks by 19th March.
